Amanda Baker, LCSW-C

One of the best parts of being human is our ability to be curious. Curiosity likely brought you here, to explore the idea of therapy and/or yoga; to also come to an understanding of why you are the way you are. I offer the opportunity to start to explore and heal. I believe that being human involves all emotions whether that is pain, sadness, anxiety, to the elevated emotions of happiness, joy, and excitement. In order to experience the good, you must be willing to experience the not so good. You may already be in a not so good place and I am motivated to provide you with insight and growth. You do not have to stay in this place. There exists harmony within both.

I have over 10 years experience within the mental health field with specific specialties in trauma-informed care, trauma-informed Yoga, CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness, and integrative play therapy modalities with children. I work with individuals with anxiety, depression, ADHD, post-traumatic stress disorder, and more. I am also a 200hr trained yoga instructor and am currently finishing up a 300hr yoga psychology training.

I believe the most important part of therapy is the therapeutic relationship. To meet you where you are, listen to your story, and provide unconditional acceptance, compassion, and empathy to then move into positive change. I integrate a mind-body approach and bring awareness on how to effectively support you to live life fully. We cannot fully heal and grow on the conscious level; we must access parts of self that have been closed off and align our mind, body, and heart. I will support you through this with an integrative approach of evidence based and holistic practices of talk therapy, somatic interventions, and possibly yoga (breath, movement, and meditation) practices. If you are interested in individual therapy, yoga based therapy, or therapeutic group yoga (perhaps all 3) please complete our contact form to schedule!
